Carly DeNure (she/her) is a queer & hard of hearing screenwriter, raised in small-town Ontario, now living in Toronto. In between the two she lived in Vancouver, receiving a B.A. in English Literature from the University of British Columbia, and a Diploma in Writing for Film & Television from Vancouver Film School.
Carly's most recent credits are as writer and story consultant on Camp Snoopy (Apple TV+) and writer and story editor on The Nature of Things 101 (CBC Gem). Other writing credits include I Woke Up a Vampire (Family/Netflix), The Snoopy Show and Snoopy in Space (AppleTV+), Carmen Sandiego (Netflix), Dorg Van Dango (Family/Nickelodeon), and Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs (Teletoon/CN). She also served as executive story editor on five Caillou specials (Family/Peacock).
Carly writes across genres, from kids’ animation to hour-long drama, always grounding her stories in what drew her to screenwriting in the first place: exploring expressions of identity, a love of all things nerdy, and a search for connection. Carly loves to write queer stories for her thirteen year old self, who didn't know why she felt the way she did about girls and felt alienated as a result. If she can help one less kid feel that way, she'll consider her career a success.
Carly is represented by the Jennifer Hollyer Agency.
